Haughton Pipeline Duplication Project

This project aims to provide improve Townsville’s water security and meet the bulk water supply by constructing a new raw water delivery pipeline from the Upper Haughton Irrigation Channel to Toonpan Creek at the head of the Ross River Dam.

  • Installation of 9.0km of DN1800 Glass Reinforced Polymer (GRP) pipe
  • Installation of GRP pipe through Majors Creek northern crossing
  • Installation of concrete bored cast-in piles and steel driven pile liners for thrust restraint structures
  • Installation of concrete thrust restraint and isolation valve pit structures
  • Supply and installation of MSCL and DICL pipe and fittings
  • Supply and installation of air valve and scour valve pit structures
  • Supply and installation of scour protection at creek crossings
